Edward’s Paternal Great Grandparents

We can identify Edward’s Barker great grandparents from his grandmother’s Marriage Record lines exploder overlay baptism record. The grandparents were Patrick Barker and Anna Creighan of Culdaloo, Tehallan*. Barker sometimes appears as “Barka” or “Barkey” in contemporary records and Creighan sometimes appears as “Crehen” or “Crehens”. Patrick Barker and Anna Creighan were married in the neighbouring parish of Donagh on 28th June 1836. Here is a copy of the marriage record:

Edward’s Barker Granduncles and Grandaunts

Baptismal records survive for two sisters of Catherine Barker - Elizabeth, born 30th October 1841, and Ellen, born 12th August 1843, both baptised in Tyholland church. There is an Anne Barker identified as a sponsor for Edward’s uncles Patrick and Peter Murphy in 1858 and 1867. Michael Barker is listed as sponsor for Margaret Murphy in 1859. Further research is required to confirm relationships and find out more about these family members.
